New features for successful cloud implementation from the TOPS expert. Join us at stand F63.
Logistics Events Industry 4.0 Port logistics Consulting company press releases
From June 12 to 14, the Terminal Operating Systems (TOS) supplier Real-time Business Solutions from Sydney (Australia), together with their local office RBS EMEA, an AKQUINET subsidiary, will be represented at TOC Europe 2018 in Rotterdam, the leading European trade fair for ports, terminals and logistics service providers. At their stand (F63), the company will be offering insights into the successful cloud implementation of its real-time solution TOPS Expert to interested visitors from industry and the media. Employees will also be on hand to report on recent automation projects with ASC and A-RTG systems, notably in the Teluk Lamong terminal in Indonesia.
RBS has a global presence, and has been supplying TOS to terminals of varying sizes around the world for 25 years. Its customers include ports as widespread as Brazil, Hamburg, and Indonesia. In 2016, RBS launched the cloud product TOPS Expert Cloud, which makes the advantages of the integrated real-time system accessible to smaller terminals based on a pay-per-use model (by TEU). The latest cloud implementation completed in 2017 at a terminal in Hamburg is sure to be a talking point at the trade fair: It is the first completed implementation of a full TOS that controls all operational processes of the terminal from the cloud.
In the field of terminal automation, RBS has also equipped Indonesia's new automated Teluk Lamong terminal with TOPS, in a project implementation time of around two years. All planning and control of the automated ASC systems (automated stacking cranes) is performed by the RBS TOS. A ship-to-shore performance of 27 movements per hour and a highly stable system availability ensure that the operator's investments in the crane system are fully optimized. ICT Senior Manager Firmaniansyah sees the benefits of the new TOS not only in the efficient control of container handling, but also in the 100 percent correlation between the actual position of the container and its software equivalent. Teluk Lamong now has a reliable TOS that has enabled it to streamline its operational processes and permanently reduce operating costs. In addition to the automated terminal in Teluk Lamong, RBS has also implemented a TOPS system in the TPKS Terminal in Semarang (Pelindo III, Indonesia). This is the world's first automated RTG (rubber-tired gantry crane) terminal.
The RBS team looks forward to sharing their experience with you at stand F63 at TOC Europe 2018. See you in Rotterdam! For more information about the RBS trade fair stand, click here.
