Modern business applications more and more require a modular and flexible architecture to tackle demand fluctuations. This situation makes loosely coupled and versioned components inevitable.
Another point is that modular approaches promote a better reuse of components and services, including (but not only) in different contexts such as on servers as well as on clients/desktop and new innovative areas, like self-adapting system and autonomic applications.
Our solution supports the development of modular, flexible applications for server and client sides. In summary, this is the decomposition of complex applications in individual and updatable components and services based on OSGi. In addition, we offer a complete set of open source products for the development, (remote) maintenance and evolution of complex OSGi-systems using, when necessary, the Apache Felix iPOJO service component model.
